Directions to Streamside Farm at the Elkins Estate:
Using the 1750 Ashbourne Rd. address w/Mapquest, GoogleMaps and GPS usually will bring you to the front gate of the estate. But its hard to get to our end of the property using the main driveway there. The best way is to come around the back of the estate using the neighborhood roads. Check out the map below for an in-close view of the estate.
If you're coming via car from Center City Philadelphia we usually take the Schyulkill Expressway to Rt.1 North and get off at the Broad St. exit. Go north on Broad St. and bear right onto Old York Rd. Go about 1 mile and make left turn at traffic light for Ashbourne Rd go about 1/4mile to Penrose Ave. and make left. Elkins Park Post Office is on hill on right as you turn. go approx. 1/8mi. to Beech Ave. and make left. take 2nd driveway on left-thru a stone wall. (1st driveway goes into Temple's tyler Campus). On driveway go approx. 250ft. and bear right at fork and this drops you down into a parking lot. take driveway towards the greenhouse and we're right there.
Also, with public transit, we take the Broad St. subway to the Olney Station and catch the C Bus to Cheltenham Ave. and Penrose Ave and walk the three blks to the farm.
